Claudio Sisera

Claudio Sisera is the Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Male Childcare & Teaching Jobs, where he leads efforts to promote gender diversity in early years education. His work focuses on increasing the number of men in the sector, offering mentorship programmes, and supporting nurseries and schools in creating inclusive recruitment strategies. Claudio is committed to fostering a more balanced workforce that benefits both educators and children alike.

With over 13 years of experience in Early Years education, Claudio's journey began as an apprentice, rapidly advancing to a managerial role after achieving his Level 3 qualification. He owned his own early years setting, gaining hands-on experience in both managing a nursery and understanding the operational needs of early years education.

Lecturer at Bolton University, Faculty of Health and Wellness and Author
Dr Jan Macfarlane has enjoyed an extensive career spanning both nursing and education. She initially trained as a registered nurse, qualifying in both adult and mental health nursing, and has held a variety of clinical and managerial roles within health organisations across the North West.

Her career then progressed into education, where she worked as a Programme Leader in further education and later as a university lecturer, delivering a wide range of modules designed to support learners preparing for the demanding environments of the care sector.

During her time in higher education, Jan developed a strong interest in the integration of positive psychology strategies within learning environments. This passion led her to pursue a PhD, focusing on how individuals can use their personal character strengths to flourish in education, at work, and in everyday life.
She has authored a series of commissioned articles on positive psychology for the British Journal of Mental Health Nursing and remains a passionate advocate for improving wellbeing through evidence-based approaches. Most recently, she published her own book dedicated to care professionals, providing practical insights and strategies rooted in positive psychology.
